Warwick Castle & Stratford Upon Avon – 10 hour tour

At Warwick Castle, about 2 hours from central London, there are battlements to climb, exhibits and demonstrations of medieval weapons.

There are displays of jousting, and visitors can experience ‘Flight of the Eagle’ where birds of prey such as buzzards and eagles are flown. If you want to know what life was like in a medieval castle, then this is the one to visit. A whole day could be spent here but allow for 3 hours.

From Warwick to Stratford upon Avon is about 20 minutes where we’ll have lunch.Stratford upon Avon is the birthplace of arguably the world’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare. There are several houses that you can visit that were at one time or another occupied by Shakespeare and members of his family. There are different combinations of tickets you can purchase that will allow access to several or all the houses. The basic ticket includes the Birthplace, Halls Croft (his daughter’s home) and New Place (Shakespeare’s own home although now demolished and left as a pretty garden). We will also visit the Church of the Holy Trinity where Shakespeare and some family members are buried.

Spending about 2 hours in Stratford, it is about 2 hours back to central London.
