Rock and Roll by Car – 8 Hour Tour
We will visit Denmark Street, London’s’ Tin Pan Alley’ with its music stores and rock history including the Sex Pistol’s home. Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, where Jimi Hendrix spent his last night on earth.
Maybe lunch in the Hard Rock Cafe, or Bill Wyman’s restaurant , Sticky Fingers.
In the afternoon, drive along Portobello Road in Notting Hill about which numerous songs were written. We’ll see Sarm Studios where so many different genres of music have been recorded from Ska and Reggae to Country Rock. Also drive to Chelsea where rock stars live, where they got married and where they died. Also see where they went shopping, in particular the Kings Road, synonymous with 1960s youth fashion and culture. Of course no rock tour would be complete without The Beatles. Beatles related sites include, the offices of MPL (Paul McCartney’s publishing company), site of the Indica Gallery where John met Yoko and we’ll head to Abbey Road to reproduce a photograph from a certain Album cover.
